I'd like to compile a list of the best enchants for leveling alts with heirloom items. Enchants should last most of the way through the leveling process, and of course must meet item level requirements. Please help me update this list with your recommended enchants, along with reasoning if you are listing it in place of an existing enchant.

My list so far:

1H and 2H - melee DPS

Enchant Weapon - Crusader - incredible buff and healing at lower levels
Enchant Weapon - Fiery Weapon - great proc rate and decent extra damage at lower levels
Enchant Weapon - Unholy Weapon - getting a buff in 3.3 which makes it sexy (looks pimp too)
Iron Counterweight - cheaper than Crusader, mats are much simpler
Enchant 2H Weapon - Agility - good static agi buff that doesn't become less effective past 60

1H - ranged

Enchant Weapon - Agility - great for hunters or rogues

1H and 2H - casters

Enchant Weapon - Spellpower - straight spell power benefits all caster classes

Chest

Enchant Chest - Greater Stats - great stat increase, but hard to locate on some servers
Enchant Chest - Major Health - mats are easy, great for melee DPS
Enchant Chest - Stats - substitute for Greater Stats if unable to locate an enchanter
Enchant Chest - Major Mana - may be good for some mana users

Shoulder

No shoulder enchants can be used at low levels.

The earliest level an enchant can be used is level 50, with the Argent Dawn shoulder enchants, followed by the Zandalar enchants at level 55. Full list can be found here.

Ranged

Scopes are pretty cheap. Upgrade them along the way as you see fit!

Cloak

Enchant Cloak - Superior Defense - Armor
Enchant Cloak - Stealth - Agility and dodge. Only option that provides a direct boost to DPS.
Enchant Cloak - Dodge - Just dodge
Enchant Cloak - Subtlety - Threat reduction, useful for fully heirloomed dps that get random semi-naked tanks while leveling through instances. Nothing else is useful for casters.

The shoulders can't be enchanted with anything afaik. If it's the same as the other enchants, since they're heirloom shoulders the enchant simply can't be used on that item. Even without the enchant they're impressive items though. – Nehi (Oct 9 2009 11:44 PM)

Incorrect, the heirloom shoulders can be enchanted as of patch 3.2. The other enchants, which are performed by enchanters, typically have an item level requirement. Shoulder enchants, which are purchased, have a player level requirement instead. Pre-3.2, these enchants simply could not be applied in most cases; however, they can now be applied to heirloom items, with the caveat that the player wearing them must meet the minimum level requirement. Also, reputation requirements such as the Aldor/Scryer enchants do not follow the item and will apply as long as level requirements are met. – Xythan (Oct 9 2009 11:53 PM)

Now you've gone and made me look it up :P It was actually patch 3.1, not 3.2, that made the necessary change. See http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/patch3p10.html - under Professions --> Enchanting: Some enchants now have level restrictions. Note: the enchant is never removed from the item to which it's applied, however, players no longer receives its benefit until they reach the required level. Incorrect, heirloom items can never become Soulbound, only Account-bound. Higher level scopes operate same as the lower level ones and will mark the ranged weapon with a level requirement if the player does not meet it. – Xythan (Oct 10 2009 7:43 AM)

This list is just about spot on for enchants to heirloom items but there are a few more that can be used for alternatives still.

For 2H melee weapons, Enchant 2H Weapon - Agility could be used for the Lava Dredger for Feral Druids. If materials aren't available to 30 spellpower, Enchant Weapon - Mighty Intellect is great alternative for both 1H and 2H caster heirlooms.

Healing Power is a cheap alternative to Spellpower to weapon. The pattern is just as rare though.

Fiery has a very high proc rate, and is surprisingly good for melee DPS at low levels - particularly on one handers, such as for a Rogue, who will benefit less from Crusader's +Str proc.

Mighty Intellect is fantastic for a leveling hunter once you get high enough for Int->AP talents. More AP than +15 Agi offers, and more Mana is great for minimizing downtime. It's also a passable alternative for a leveling caster if you're more concerned about reducing downtime than increasing damage.

Also, don't forget to put Minor Speed on any boots you happen to pick up along the way! Run speed is amazing!

Before you go out and enchant everything, realize it makes the gear bop if you enchant it.

Just something to keep in mind.

Incorrect. You have completely missed the purpose of heirloom gear! It is Bind to Account and can never become Soulbound, only Account-bound. – Xythan (Oct 10 2009 7:40 AM)

One thing....

Enchant weapon - Agility does not work on Bows or Guns...only meele weapons as it states on the description....

with inscription you can enchant your boa shoulers :P

You *can* inscipt your shoulders and they remain BoA tradable between your characters, however profession-based enchants only activates your character has sufficient skill in that profession. – Dobablo (Feb 1 2011 2:04 AM)

Since there are some cloak heirlooms now, I thought I would add some suggestions.

Cloak
