So I play a Rogue-Druid 2's in Arena. We're not Gladiator level by any stretch of the imagination but we envision ourselves in a 1800-2000 level at the moment. With some exceptions we're incredibly strong against any non-Paladin team, but just mercilessly bad against Rogue teams.

My Rogue is 41-5-25, with all the requisite stealth talents and +stealth to cloak. Somehow, I just cannot pull these rogues out of stealth. Maybe I don't have a good macro for pulling something out of stealth, but it just seems like they always see me first. As soon as I'm pulled out of stealth, it's almost a guaranteed loss for my team as the stunlock is usually too hard to come back from.

Out of our 6 losses tonight, 2 were to Rogue-Disc and 2 to Rogue-Ret, and none of the 4 did I get the rogue out of stealth. I'm trying to up my game, but it just seems like I'm completely blocked against Rogue comps.

Any good ideas/tips for how to play Rogue v Rogue?

The best thing for you is to practice 1v1 against other rogues. Just run around in a duel and try to sap each other out of stealth. Try to pay attention to how the rogue moves trying to find you, they usually move in wide circles and seldom come straight. Sometimes the best thing is to get towards a wall and wait for them to move past you.

You mentioned the Anti-Stealth Macro. For reference:

#showtooltip sap
/cleartarget
/targetenemy
/cast sap

I'm sure you know how it works already, but for those who don't... It's basically spamming Tab and Sap at the same time, but reliably. It clears your current target, targets the nearest enemy, then Saps them. Now, it doesn't work if the enemy isn't in front of you, but it is spammable, so just spin as soon as you can to get him with it.

If you're the one caught out of stealth or you sap each other at the same time there are a few things you can do.

  • Pop your PvP Trinket right away - This is extremely risky if the other rogue hasn't opened on you yet because as soon as they see -Sap Fades- they'll try to CS. If you haven't gotten vanish off, you're going to be stuck in a full stunlock. If you do try, pop it then Vanish right away and attempt to Sap or CS him immediately.

  • Wait for the CS/KS before using your Trinket - This is the "normal" way to deal with another rogue. It's extremely hard to recover though and if the other rogue is worth anything, you'll be done. Use all of your defensive cooldowns as soon as you get out, you've really only got one shot to stay alive and turn this thing around.

Depending on the rogue's partner and what spec your druid is, you might want to just ignore the other rogue and try to open on their partner. As 41/5/25 you should be able to blow up a Disc priest hard enough to force them to blow all their cooldowns. You'll most certainly force the rogue out. Assuming your druid is resto have him keep you up during his opener and just try to roll Evasion into Disarm or vice-versa to limit your damage incoming. Maybe swap to the rogue for a short bit while the priest has PI, try to get as much damage rolling out as fast as you can before vanishing and attempting to reopen on the priest. If they jump on your druid, thank whatever deity you'd like and try to chain CC the priest.

Vs the Ret... don't get caught out.
