So i a pretty geared (wow Heroes gear score: 2557) dps DK. im a pretty avid guild raider and im going to switch to 16/0/55 spec in 3.3 to see if 51/0/20 really is nerfed as bad as i keep hearing. Ive got a ton of armor pen gear from being blood specced since patch 3.1 i know that the unholy spec im going to use requires a lot of haste compared to blood and armor pen is not needed nearly as much. how should i go about this change in gameplay and any tips on unholy speccs?

As it was explained to me: Wear the gear you wore as blood. Faceroll as you would as blood. Replace Heart Strike with Scourge Strike. Grats, you are an Unholy DK. – Feist Dec 26 at 2:14

In 3.3 Armor pen is better than haste for unholy, and haste becomes quite low down in stat weights. So gear should be fine.

Quite simple, in 3.3. rotation will be IT PS SS BS BS DC DC (if you have the rp) SS SS SS DC DC (repeat)

Why use BS sooner in the rotation? All the UH specs take 5/5 Desolation, so wouldn't you want to use at least 1 BS b/f the SS? – Nightfreeze Jan 9 at 18:18

By using SS you get virulance buff. If you used BS before SS it would take longer for both buffs to come up due to you needing to do 2 BS for sake of rotation simplicity – Sylice Jan 10 at 15:06
Sorry, I'm noob at UH, just started playing it again two days ago after a year of Frost and Blood. Not familiar with the Virulence buff, other than the 3pt talent in the first tier of the UH tree, and don't see anything in the SS tooltip about that buff. 245 Sigil of virulance bought for 25 triumphs. 200 str for 20 seconds chance on hit from DS OB or SS but its uptime is huge. – Sylice Jan 11 at 23:29
