Does anyone have a good destro macro?

I'm looking for a useful destruction warlock macro. The main macro I'm looking for is one that will cast Conflagrate, Chaos Bolt, and Incinerate.

Maybe this link to the den can help you, but be aware of the point in the end. Incinerate is a filler and should not be set in stone.

+1 for amusing admonition in regards to macro use. – Nehi (Nov 25 2009 9:52 AM)

Try the following

#showtooltip
/castsequence /castsequence reset=10/shift Conflagrate,Chaos Bolt,Incinerate,Incinerate,Incinerate,Incinerate,Incinerate,Incinerate

This will cast conflag, then CB and cast incinerate until you've finished the sequence or you press shift on use (do this when cooldowns are available before finishing the cast chain).

If you aren't glyphed for CB this macro will be less than optimium dps because you'll waste about 2s ever 12 due to CB and conflag having different cooldowns. You'll also do this is you fail to complete the cast sequence before conflat comes off cooldown, but that is the price you pay for a one-button spam mode macro. You will still need to cast immolate, curses and corruption as required.

The reset=12 will refresh after each cast in the list, so would NOT go back to the start until 12 seconds of inactivity have passed, or 8 incinerates have been cast. – Runc (Nov 25 2009 9:00 AM)

If you're a destro lock, why would you be casting corruption? – Nehi (Nov 25 2009 9:53 AM)

The only reason to have the 12 second refresh is because Chaos Bolt has a 12 seconds cooldown. Using this macro would cost you some DPS though because the Conflagrate is a 10 second cooldown but wouldn't be used for 12 seconds. Also, I tried having Incinerate in a macro and lost casting time because casting the spell itself is faster than using the macro. – Ape (Nov 25 2009 10:42 PM)

Sorry if answering the question gets me marked down. He asked for a macro and I gave it to him. I warned how it was a DPS loss because you wouldn't be casting conflag whenever it was available. The only comment I'll accept is that the reset funtion doesn't work as I thought it did, which would invalidate the chain. – Dobablo (Nov 26 2009 1:28 AM)

Sorry if answering the question gets me marked down. He asked for a macro and I gave it to him with a warning on how it would be a dps loss due to non-optimal cooldown useage unless he used the conflag glyph. I make no judgement on whether it is best for each use to use a glyph that isn't in the top 3 for dps in exchange for casting convenience. I do accept the comment that my reset understanding was wrong, so I have updated the macro taking that into account. – Dobablo (Nov 26 2009 1:42 AM)

castsequency macros in general are usually a dps loss because you can't cast the next spell in the sequence until the client thinks the previous spell is done. It prevents you from casting early to account for latency. – Wridel (Nov 26 2009 2:32 AM)
