Is there a way to report an EpicAdvice user?

Can one flag a user, or only his/her posts?

I have seen several posts that I wanted to vote down, and noticed they were from the same user. Checking their user page, I notice that of the 7 questions asked (all in a 5 hour time period) 5 have been voted down or closed. I have a sneaking suspicion that this user is hoping for a prize in the contest, and thus asking whatever they can think of.

I am not saying this particular user should be reported per se (hence my not naming them), but it did lead me to wonder whether there is a mechanism in place for reporting a user who consistently does not 'play by the rules' (nasty comments, subjective questions etc). Perhaps a temporary posting stop or something similar? I don't believe one can actually ignore a user, only tags.

Are negatively marked/close questions eligable for the random prize? The contest rules only says "we are not allowing duplicate questions or answers" Thinking on the positive side, maybe these questions will give someone a chance to get the "Reversal" badge :) – Dobablo (Jul 17 2010 2:06 PM)

Posts on closed questions are not eligible for random prizes. Negatively scored posts are likely to be in-eligible / deleted due to other posting rules that normally apply (off topic/argumentative/flaming/etc posts are not eligible either). Some of these questions are still alive because there may actually be good answers available to them, even if the question body is poorly written, or seems QQ. – ♦♦gnarf (Jul 17 2010 4:39 PM)

I love the contest, and I love the added traffic on the site, but some of the most recent questions have definitely been not on par with the flavor we are used to. Hopefully though, for every user asking QQ or subjective questions (or sometimes not a question at all) we are attracting more twice as many readers who just haven't found a reason to ask a question yet. – kazzamalla (Jul 17 2010 4:47 PM)

Or maybe the community moderation will somehow turn these into much better questions. Remember, votes count, so do comments, tags, and edits. "The User" in this post still only has 1 rep after over 10 questions. – ♦♦gnarf (Jul 17 2010 7:58 PM)

Oh don't get me wrong, as I said, I love the added users, and all the extra people showing interest in this community! In some cases I think it might simply be those users not understanding the purpose of the site, since most outlets on the web allow "those" type of posts. I think those that have the rep to edit have been doing a great job for those posts that can be salvaged. :) – kazzamalla (Jul 17 2010 9:38 PM)

Never have I wanted the ability to edit other people's posts as much as I have this week! – Ecogirl (Jul 18 2010 2:10 PM)

Just flag the posts that need to be closed, that simple. If you can't vote to close yet, add a comment, or vote up an existing comment about closing and, if you feel strongly enough flag for moderator attention.

I hammered a few of those posts already, but I like to let the community mark some of them as not constructive as well, so it doesn't seem like I'm the only bad guy around here...
