How to monitor CPs when carrying them over from a dead mob (new to 4.0.1)

Hi,

Was just after more info or directions to a possible addon that monitors CPs. [Combat Points]

Basically Rogues & Kitty Druids can carry over unused CPs to be used on the next enemy they encounter. Unless you keep targeting the dead enemy you have no way of knowing how many CPs you are carrying over. I would also be interested to know what the time limit on the CPs is for them to be used before they are wiped from the dead enemy.

Any info or possibly a link to an addon that monitors carried over CPs would be great.

Thanks

Just a bit of advice. When using a term such as "CP", it is usually helpful to define what exactly the abbreviation is upon its first use. For example, in this case it would be helpful to say "combo point (CP)" or "combo points (CPs)". That way, people that are not familiar with the term won't have to guess. Then again, I guess it is less important on a site like this, due to all of the abbreviations used in the game. – Spazmoosifer (Oct 21 2010 10:06 AM)

It doesn't quite work that way. You can't carry them over to the next mob - they're cleared as soon as you generate a CP on a new target, or after, (I think) 15 seconds, or when the target despawns, whichever comes first.

CP's on a dead target can not be used for targeted or offensive finishers - they can only be used to refresh self buffs. In other words, there's no real need to track them. Just make a mental note of however many were there, and use, or do not use, Recuperate/Slice and Dice/Savage Roar as you're running to a new target, or before tabbing over, as appropriate. The CP's will still display on the dead target while it's targetted until they clear, both with the default UI, and with most unit-frame addons. There's really no need for some other special tracker.
